Sentinels of Freedom

 Warrior One Hits Texas

The RE/MAX Tour of Troops, featuring the CNN Warrior One Hummer, is under way. This one of a kind vehicle is designed to generate awareness and funding for the sentinels of Freedom Scholarship Foundation and The Fisher House Foundation. Warrior One rolls into the Lone Star State this month and will be on display in Plano Balloon Festival September 21st-23rd.

Embedded with U.S. Marines during the invasion of Iraq, the CNN news Hummer – dubbed Warrior One - was completely overhauled and transformed into a one-of-a-kind military tribute vehicle. The Hummer features a stunning airbrush mural depicting the news crew’s wartime experiences along with a new engine, interior, and DVD player with an amazing six screens.

Warrior One was purchased by RE/MAX International Founder Dave Liniger on the auction block this past January with all proceeds benefiting the Fisher House Foundation. Liniger bid a remarkable $1 million to win the Hummer, commenting that “It’s all for a fabulous cause and we can use this impressive vehicle to do great things for so many wounded veterans.”

Funds raised on the RE/MAX Tour for the Troops will be donated to the Sentinels of Freedom Foundation to provide scholarships to severely wounded veterans. Scholarship recipients receive housing, transportation, employment and training for a four year transition period, helping them readjust to civilian life.
